We had a serious database crash. Unfortunately the last back-up I had of the database was November of last year. So I rolled us back to then.

Registration is currently disabled due to excessive spamming by folks wanting to peddle their counterfeit Loius Vitan bags etc.

I'll restore registration once I do some research into spammer counter measures.

Current members may make and respond to posts. Uhm... That's if you were a member as of November 8th 2013.

Thanks for your patience.

Hope Lives is powered by POL

Added to portal by Juarez, Lucas (Lucas-ruroken) - January 17, 2013, 05:49:51 AM
We are still plugging along. Thanks to a member of the POL forums, Poi, we will have a new program to allow players to update client files when we make any changes to them. I think I have solved the problem I was having when I tried to use different maps for Britannia and Alternate Britannia. I guess that's about it for now.

We're still plugging along. I haven't started my conversion to the latest classic client yet but my intention is to do just that. It will mean changing a lot of our custom item's internal object type numbers in both the item definition files as well as the world data files but I should be able to pull that off without a hitch. Also, I think I have solved an issue I was having with using two different maps for the Britannia and the Alternate Britannia realms. So we might be able to add another map to our repertoire. Also, thanks to a member of the POL forums, Poi, we will have a new program to allow easy updating of client files when any changes are made to them.  I guess that's about it for now.

Even though there are still some bugs to be worked out and things that need to be done I am announcing that Hope Lives shard is now out of beta. There will always be issues that arise since we are always going to be adding new things but I think it's time for Hope to stand on her own two feet. As always your patience is greatly appreciated. If you find bugs please post them in the "Bugs" forum.
Thanks,
Kiko

Translation: Employers sometimes equate job longevity with laziness, lack of flexibility or worse — fear of change. Part of being mindful about your financial progress is reassessing your earning potential, which is hard to do when you're stuck on one predetermined salary track.

But it did not remove the threat that rates will go up, as the economy remains in its recovery path.
quadcitiesdaily.com  His problem with Russia was that its government wouldn’t allow him to study what he wanted to study. He wasn’t religious in any conventional sense, but he’d been born a Jew, which had been noted on his Russian passport to remind everyone of the fact. As a Jew he expected to be given especially difficult entrance exams to university, which, if he passed them, would grant him access to just one of two Moscow universities that were more accepting of Jews. He’d been willing to tolerate this state of affairs; however, as it happened, he’d also been born to program computers. He hadn’t laid hands on one until 1986, when he was already 16, but the first thing he’d done was to write a program. He’d instructed the computer to draw a picture of a sine wave. When the computer actually followed his instructions, he was hooked. What hooked him, he now says, was “its detailed orientation. The way it requires an ability to see the problem and tackle it from different angles. It’s not just like chess, but like solving a particular problem in chess. The more challenging problem is not to play chess but to write the code that will play chess.” He found that coding engaged him not just intellectually but also emotionally. “Writing a program is like giving birth to a child,” he says. “It is a creation. Even though it is technical, it is a work of art. You get this level of satisfaction.”
